Meet Me on Monday Week 28

Never Growing Old, the writer of MMOM has taken a sabbatical, but she will be back next Monday to resume her old hosting spot! :) I did do one of the MMOM posts with the author of Acting Balanced, but it was difficult for me to remember to do it. Now, I'm back in the saddle and have checked out her new feature, Monday Quiz About Me and so I'll be joining this week so that I can stay on my horse! 

She will have four questions and the fifth one is a question I ask my readers to respond to, so here goes: 

1. Which three words would describe you best?

Dedicated, funny, passionate

2. Describe your favorite place in the whole world.

I love the beach and being in the water. Ha! Brad Paisley's song, Water, just came on my player! Perfect! I'm ready for the summer and have been begging my husband to come swimming with me, but he says it's still too cold. Yet, he turned the A/C on today...hmmmm...I say he's a wuss! 

3. Sunsets, Sunrises or Full Moons?

Sunsets-Arizona has some of the best I've ever seen. I've only been up for sunrise once-well, one that I watched and that was years ago on the beach and Cancun. Ah, memories! Full moons?? What are we-werewolves?

4. If you were to get reincarnated what or who would you want to come back as?

Well, I like being human, but if I came back as something else, I would probably want to come back as a spoiled dog. A nice lab that gets to eat, play, go on long walks and sleep! :)

5. Have you finished your taxes yet? 

I have not. We have an appointment tomorrow. I am a procrastinator, but this delay has been my husbands, as my work was all done in late January/early February. :)

Meet Me on Monday Week 27

I know it's been a few weeks since I posted a MMOM post. The last host, Never Growing Old, hasn't posted once since the holidays, so now, Acting Balanced is taking up the reins on our favorite Monday posts! 

Questions:

1. What is on your bedside table?

I always have a book on my nightstand. Right now I have two, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I finished the fourth book last night so I grabbed the next one just in case I felt up to starting it, however, I was too tired! I also always have my lamp and a glass of water on my nightstand. When I'm asleep, my glasses rest there, too. 

2. Hardback, Paperback or E-Reader?

If I am keeping the book, I prefer hardback covers, especially if it's a series. I get paperback quite often when they are on sale. I just got a Kindle for my birthday so I'll be putting that to use here soon!

3. What is your 'go to' drink of choice?

Water. I love water. I prefer it in a large plastic cup on the rocks. I should drink some right now!

4. How do you like to spend your birthday?

I want to spend it with friends and family eating lots of cake and things I should be resisting the rest of the year!

5. Finish this sentence - I would never be caught dead in ...

skinny jeans. I'm not skinny, and they aren't flattering. 

I don't need everyone else to know my thighs like to make out!

Meet Me on Monday Week 26

Questions:

1. How many brother and sisters do you have?
I have two brothers and one sister. My older brother is a half brother that my dad adopted before I was born. He was never really a half sibling b/c he was always around for the most part. He's almost five years older so he was out of the house early. My younger brother and I are 15 months apart. We were close growing up, but we've drifted apart over the years. My younger sister is about four years younger. She's also a half sibling on my dad's side. Since we lived states apart all of her life, we haven't really ever gotten to know each other. We are both on Facebook though and are able to communicate and share life events.

2. What is your favorite thing to do?
I love to listen to music and dance and sing. I also am an avid reader. I love snuggling with a good book!

3. What countries have you visited?
I have been to Mexico and Jamaica. I hope to travel more in the future. My goal is to see as many tropical places as I can while younger and all the historical (i.e. European) places when I'm older.

4. Are you a morning or a night person?
I am usually a morning person. If I am woken up when I believe it should technically still be night time, I am not a morning person at all.

I love Reese's Puffs and Life. 

Meet Me on Monday Week 25

Questions:

1.  What is your favorite kind of fudge?

Just plain chocolate. :) 

2.  Is there snow outside your window?

No, I live in the desert!  

3.  What is your favorite meal of the day?

Dessert, if that counts as a meal!

4.  Do you text on your cell phone?

Yes, I think everyone does now. 

5.  Waffles or pancakes?

Both-I hate making choices like this. I guess I would have to choose pancakes, but my husband likes waffles more, so I eat more of those. 

Meet Me on Monday Week 24

I know after the holiday edition, I did forget to do last week's Meet Me on Monday post. I was out of town and not able to access a computer. I hope you understand! 

Feel free to answer the questions yourself in the comments. It's always nice getting to know my readers!

Questions:
1. What kind of computer do you blog on?

This computer is a Dell laptop. Our desktop computer is something my husband pieced together getting parts from Fry's Electronics.

2. Do you wear perfume? If so, what kind? 

No. If I do happen to wear a scent, it's usually just lotion. I'm sensitive to smells though, so I don't like wearing anything strong or flowery.

I love the Cinnamon Vanilla scent.

3. What do you do for a living?

I own Bum Luxury. :) I wouldn't say it makes me a living though. I guess I earn my keep plenty by taking care of Baby J, the house and my husband!

4. Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?

Yes, we have a yellow lab named Chloe. She is our fur baby.

5. Did you go anywhere for winter vacation? If so, where?

We just got back from a trip to the dunes in Glamis, CA. We also went to the Grand Canyon and stopped by Snow Bowl on our way home a few days ago. Just mini trips, but they are always fun!

Meet Me on Monday: Holiday Edition

From Never Growing Old: For this weeks Meet Me On Monday, I'm going to have all the questions Christmas related and 15 questions instead of 5 since there will be no Meet Me On Monday next week (Christmas) or the week after that (New Years)!!

I will try to post the following Mondays, as my husband still has to work, so it's back to normal here for me. If not though, at least I'm covered!

1.Wrapping paper or gift bags?

I love to wrap presents and prefer to do that over getting a bag and tissue paper any day. I love wrapping parties where lots of people get together to wrap presents and listen to holiday songs while drinking egg nog or some other delicious wintery drink.

2.Real or artificial tree?

Real! Each year we go to a tree lot to find the perfect tree. I then sing Oh Christmas Tree to it a few times to make it feel like it belongs. I know-super cheesy, but it's my way.

3.When do you put your tree up?

When I feel that I can have it up without it wilting and shriveling away before Christmas Day. This year it's been colder here in Phoenix, so we got it the first weekend in December. It still looks great!
4.When do you take your tree down?

New Year's Day or the week of is my goal.
5.Do you like eggnog?

Yes! I don't love it, but it's nice to have a glass around the holidays.

6.Do you have a nativity scene?

No. We always had one growing up and I loved setting it up and making it look perfect with our fake snow, but my husband and I aren't religious.

7.Favorite Christmas Movie?

Elf for sure! Love that movie. I've watched it already this year while making cake balls with the family.

8.Favorite Christmas cookie?

I don't have a favorite cookie. I love them all!

9.Where will you eat Christmas dinner?

Here at home. I love to cook, so I'm hoping for something good.
10.Angel, bow or star on top of your tree?

This year we don't have anything. We had our angel for the last seven years and it took me forever to find the perfect one. It broke sometime last year and we didn't buy anything new this year, because again, I need something I feel is perfect. I want a light up star now. :)

11.Most annoying thing about this time of the year?

I don't find much annoying as I love the holiday season, but I get sad because I never have enough money to buy the gifts I would like to get for people. It's the thought that counts, right?

12.Do you like Fruitcake?

No.

13.What are you most excited about the holidays?

To see people open their gifts. I try to get the perfect thing for everyone, so I want to know if they like it as much as I had hoped.

14.Do you open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

Christmas morning for us. There were a few years growing up where we would open one present on Christmas Eve, but mostly just Christmas morning after stockings.
15.Will you still be wrapping presents on Christmas Eve? 

Probably. It's a tradition for me to procrastinate. I have most of Baby J's gifts-all of them I think, but I haven't been able to get the wrapping out of the attic and have time to wrap with her not being under foot.

Meet Me on Monday Week 23

Questions:

1.  Tomorrow I'm going to _________?
Order the gifts I've been working on to have for family and friends for the holidays. I can't say what they are just in case anyone receiving one reads this, so it will be a surprise. :) 

 
2.  Pudding or Jello?
Pudding! Chocolate preferred. Even better if you put it in a pie! Yum!

3.  What book are you currently reading? 
I'm reading The Confession by John Grisham I highly recommend it. I'm about 2/3 through and it's very captivating. Grisham's books always suck me in. 

4.  What is the first concert you went to see?
I went to a 106.1 Kiss FM party (Dallas radio station) w/ many bands/groups when I was 12 or 13-somewhere around there. I honestly have no idea who played, but I know I was excited. I'm a huge concert fan and love going. The most recent concert I went to was Taylor Swift in October. It was a spectacular show! 

5.  What is your current weather?
Rainy! :( Yuck! Yesterday was a beautiful 75ish degree day with a clear, blue sky. Then I wake up to clouds and rain-all day long! Unfortunately, I've been stuck in the house because of this (my husband has decided that since other people in Arizona don't know how to drive in the rain, I guess I'm not allowed to) with a 17 month old who has decided she doesn't need to nap anymore.

Meet Me on Monday Week 22

Questions:

1.  Monday's are _________?

A day to get the house back in order after the weekend.

2.  What is your favorite kind of milkshake?

Chocolate! It needs to be made with real chocolate ice cream and not vanilla with chocolate syrup.

My favorite milk shake of all-too bad there aren't any Braum's in Arizona. :(

3.  What monthly bill do you most dislike paying? 

I don't pay the monthly bills. If I looked at our account, I might have a heart attack because my husband spends a lot of money on things and he doesn't care about the price. :( We had to make this deal a long time ago that he did all the bills and as long as I could spend money if I needed to we were good, or else I would do the bills and he'd get an allowance. He chose the former.

4.  How many email addresses do you use on a regular basis?

Two-my work email and my personal email. My work email is almost always caught up. I have about 70 emails to go through in my personal account on a regular basis. :( I need to unsubscribe from some things.

5.  What color lights are on your Christmas Tree?

We have white and blue lights on our tree. We just put it up on Saturday. I can't find my tree skirt and our tree topper broke last year, so it's not complete yet.  

This is our tree from 2009...I haven't taken one of our tree this year yet. We have the same lights on it though!

Meet Me on Monday Week 21

Questions:

1.  I wish I had more time to _________?

Wow! I could really create a long list for this. I was just talking to a friend this weekend about how I wish I had time to play video games. I know it sounds silly, but they are really fun and I enjoy them. I make time to read books, but I can't justify making time to play video games!

I started this game in 2002, but have yet to finish it. :( I will one day!

2.  What is your favorite kind of soup?

Hmmm...I guess chicken noodle. I'm not a big soup person, but I loved the Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup when I was sick growing up. 

3.  Where will you eat Thanksgiving dinner? 

This year we are going to Lee's friend's house on Wednesday for Thanksgiving dinner. Lee usually works Thursday evenings so we have to celebrate early. This year he will work early on Thursday, so we are heading to my friend's for the day. This will be my first year not making the meal in quite some time. I think I'm okay with it.

4.  What is your favorite time of day?

Gosh, it's hard to say. I like different times depending on my mood. I could say my favorite time of day is when I eat! Hahahaha! 

5.  Did you start Christmas shopping yet?

Um....I thought about starting my holiday shopping...does that count?
